Currently at Wednesday night youth we are discussing Wisdom and Walking Wisely. We are being encouraged to read Proverbs throughout this month. I am really enjoying this series and wish that someone had walked me through this type of series when I was a teen. I think as parents we get caught up in our busy, and hectic lives and forget that our children are still in dire need of our direct instruction. So many parents (including myself) think that because our children are so much more "worldly wise" earlier these days we think they are "grown" before they really are and leave them to their own means way to soon. When in all reality they are becoming "adults" at a much later age now more than ever. I am a huge fan of Tim Elmore and have been reading all of his blog post as well as two great books he wrote "Artificial Maturity" and "IY Generation". In both of these books and his blog he helps explain how we are enabling our children to enter adulthood not prepared. I highly suggest both of these books and if you don't have time for those then sign up for his blog post or podcast. They are very enlightening.
ALL OF THAT SAID , I have been searching for ways to encourage and pray for my children daily. I needed something that I could do quickly but thoroughly. I just searched praying for children. I came across many and will share a few. I did try to print one but with my mac it disfigured it so maybe I will build my own. (If I find time to make this I will definitely post for you if you would like.)
